This Floorwood European Oak Floor has been installed, secret nailed over 12mm plywood using random layed 230mm & 180mm wide boards.
The client required the flooring to look as if it was 200 years old to go with an eclectic mix of antique furniture.
This was acheived by using Rubio Monocoat fumed treatment applied with a pump spray and layed out with a lambswool applicator. After the fume was dry, it was buffed back with a worn 120 grit screen to creat an aged, foot worn look to the surface. The floor was then vaccumed, tacked off for the fine dust and finished with Rubio Monocoat 2C Pure Oil. The end result was nothing short of spectacular.

The classic symmetrical design of Chevron, is one of the most popular patterns specified in all styles of

decor.

Floorwood produces Chevron in a solid 10mm x 80mm x 400mm block.

We keep to the traditional form of soft rounded edges to define each blocks space in the floor.

Species such as American Walnut,Teak and Oak are machined,brushed and oiled with patient hands to create

a floor filled with warmth, grace and charm to enhance any room in the home or office.

As each Chevron floor is a hand made original, they are made to order and can take up to 10 weeks for delivery.

Repairs maybe required where floor boards have either cracked, split or water damage has occurred.

Repairs may also be required when walls are removed, joining two rooms together We accommodate for all types of repairs, replacing a single damaged boards or staggering several boards.

Don’t like the colour, need a change. There are many options available to enhance the grain and texture of your timber flooring. Staining, lime washing, whitewashing and tinting are just a few of the colour applications available to customers.

One of the most important things to keep in mind is the preparation of the timber flooring. The quality of sanding and brushing will affect the final result. Try to have a sample made to see if the outcome will meet your expectations.

Refinishing

Floorwood not only sands and coats your floor. We offer the unique process of grain brushing. Providing your timber flooring species is suitable. This involves the use of our custom made machines to brush out the soft parts of the timber grain. This enhances the look and feel of your of your floor. creating a subtle texture improving the livability of your floor.

At Floorwood, we recommend the use of either natural oil finishes or commercial water –based coatings. These low VOC options are easy to maintain and repair, less harmful to the environment and the user.
